The Western island. Mostly uninhabited. Rumors of treasures and magical artifacts.
Millard's Cove included the cities of Millard's Hope, Millard's Destiny, Millard's Dream, and Millard's Promise.
Main person in charge at the island is the eldest son of Millard. Captain Joseph Millard and the famous wizard Ro'Sek.

Hlanni was found by accident. One day a ship chasing pirates had lost the ship it was chasing. In the crows nest though the lookout saw some birds out to the west. Though they were days away from shore he went down and told the captian and the wizard. Both the captian and the wizard thought he had been up there too long. After telling the wizard to look for himself the lookout went to his bunk. Using magic the wizard did indeed see birds out to the west. So after advising the captian they decided to investigate further. After a tough day of sailing land was spotted. The weather and the wind forced them to fight until they found a cove to rest in. After a small scouting party was sent out the captian decided they would gather what items were needed for the return trip.

It was this scouting party that ran into the main inhabitants of the island. Large creatures some with 4 legs and others that walked on two. The first attempt from the wizard to communicate warned them of what they were facing. Ro'Sek tried casting a spell to assist with communication and noticed the magical energies disappear like they were being sucked away. After seeing the wizard gasp and then start backing away the party started heading to the ship. Then they turned around they realized they were surounded. Melee combat started and the crew was slaughtered. During this Ro'Sek tried fighting back with a chain lightning spell. None of the creatures were harmed by this spell. He used a teleport spell he always kept quickened to go back to the ship. Ro'Sek was the only one to make it back. The captian was off the ship getting some supplies when he was attacked. Only his experience with the sword kept him alive. The creature knowing it's death was near though did a desperate attack that wounded the captian mortally. The captian was able to make it back to the ship and Ro'Sek was unable to take him to help because he only had the one teleport prepared. The captian died and the crew was not enough to control the ship. They dropped anchor in the cove far enough out so they would be safe. Ro'Sek teleported them all back to the main city of Legil-Gawyn to get another ship that was better prepared. He also assembled a group of wizards to assist in the study of such creatures. Being able to absorb magical energies and resist them intrigued them. Joseph Millard the eldest son of Captian Millard had brought his ship and crew. The death of his father had him seeking vengance. A total of 3 ships for luck was assembled. Twelve wizards plus Ro'Sek. A small army for soldiers and craftsmen. Ro'Sek with some teleports scouted out the area in advance with the other mages. They quickly assembled some walls of stone to setup a defendable position when the rest arrived. Two mages died thinking thier wall of force would protect them. A long and hard battle at the cove left 5 wizards and a small force of men at arms. A defendable position was created however. In this battle they found out some of the creatures could jump 15 feet straight up. With a running start they were able to bypass some of the walls. Finally the stopped the attack. At the end of the day of Calimgond the 12th on the Day of Tests. Ro'Sek had summoned a few earth elementals to assist and they were able to fortify thier position. They ended up with a wall surounding the camp 34 feet high. Ro'Sek and another mage used thier walls of stone and at the top a wall of force with permenancy. The next day ironicly the Day of Thought they rested and planned thier next expansion. Normally money would make a venture like settling this island be though crazy. During the first trip Ro'Sek sensed some powerful magic in the center of the island. He thinks it is the reason why the creatures here are so protective and thier defense against magical attacks. With many powerful parties interested in such money became no longer a restraining factor. There are always crews going out to this island in hopes to discover what is in the middle and to conquer this new and uncharted island.

Captain Joseph Millard

HISTORY
As a young man his father denied him to come along the sailing trips. His father always wanted his sons to do something more with their life than sailing. The father being a career sailor and a captain for so long none of his friends knew his first name. Wanting to be like his father Joseph ran away from home at the age of 14 and joined up with a small ship. After a few months his ship was attacked and pirates kidnapped him. The pirate crew seeing his ability with climbing decided to invite the boy into their crew. After two years of being a pirate Joseph took his leave and joined up with the Royal Navy. With his experience with pirates and their tactics he helped capture many rogue captains. By time he was 20 he was regarded as one of the best navy captains out there. When he turned 21 he returned home to show his family the man he become. When he arrived he was met with anger from his father who did not want his son to follow in his footsteps. After a few harsh words the father left the house to go drink with his crew. Joseph and his family talked about what he had done in the past 8 years. He also found out that his father though still angry was also proud of his son. It took 6 months before Joseph and his father could talk without shouting at each other. After a brief mission together they finally restored the bond that was lost. When he heard of his father's death Joseph was one of the firsts to sign up. The money did not lure him it was to avenge his fathers death. It was also on this mission that he brought his youngest brother Samuel who had just turned 14. After the settlement was made Joseph became a leader and temporary gave up his sea legs to assist in keeping these people alive in the deadly island of Hlanni.
