The history of Legil-Gawyn is uneventful when compared to current events. It started out as two kingdoms that had kings running them. Roland Legil who rule the north as his family had for several generations. Mathias Gawyn who ruled the south after uniting several towns and little provinces. Both were in pursuit of money and power. One day in the woods hunting they happened to meet each other without realizing who the other was. On this day they became best of friends. Afterwards they realized who the other was and decided that with thier friendship peace and posterity can be obtained. They then created a council where they would rule with select advisors. This lead to several years of wealth for the land.

At thier death from assassins the people decided to name the land after these two great men. Both kings were killed on a hunting expidition. There were no survivors from the party only the remains of the people. The kings were identified through magical scrying and thier rings of rulership among the remains. The details were not released to the public but the council is looking for any spellcaster who can shatter bodies into little pieces like they were glass. Noone has been taken in even after 2 years of the event. Some members of the council are wary of other council members.

In the center of the land there is a great mountain range where a dwarven nation lies. These dwarves have choosen to not concern themselves with what happens in the outside world. They do not let anyone into thier tunnels. Since trade with them is nessary to get some metals, small towns have grown where the entrance to thier caves. These towns are usually not held in check by the royal guards. The kingdom takes the view that anyone going there should either protect themselves or are stupid for going there. It is not unusual to see a merchant enter the town with a small army following them. This rule is from when the guards used to attempt to keep law in the town. A year ago a thief took something and the merchant had ordered the place torn apart to find the person. When the kingdom guards interfered they were killed also. At that point the kingdom decided that if the merchants wanted to run the towns then they can. Which at that point they told all common folk that those towns were to be entered at ones own risk. The new attidude for these trade towns have encouraged certain people to reside there while also ensuring entertainment for the dwarves and brisk trade in things that are illegal in most towns with a kingdom guard presence.
